ICT 2013 Conference, 6-8 November 2013, Vilnius

On 6-8 November 2013, Professor Andrzej Dziech and Dr. Mikołaj Leszczuk participated in the ICT Conference 2013 in Vilnius at the invitation of Polish National Contact Point and the European Commission.

This conference brings together top experts from industry, academia and research, who deal with issues related to cloud computing, broadband access and security. This time, experts presented the details of the next EU research program – Horizon 2020. More information about the event can be found at:

About 6,000 participants, including 80 speakers from around the world, took part in the conference, another 4,000 people attended the event over the Internet. Special guests were the President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaite and European Commission Vice President Neelie Kroes, who gave a speech opening the conference.

Exhibition took place on the event, presenting more than 200 exhibits ranging from cars and high-tech robots, software, to the new forms of business and services. Minister of Transport and Communications Rimantas Sinkevicius opened the exhibition with his speech. More about the show:

Professor Dziech with Dr. Leszczuk took an active part in the Ideal-ist face2face brokerage event organized by the ICT National Contact Point Network and the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN), which is an additional way to find potential partners for cooperation in particular areas. The important point of the Conference was the meeting Towards More Agile and Responsive Support for Innovation, including discussions of solutions to improve the functioning of EU initiatives for innovation.
