INDECT data protection review
Handling of collected personal data while protecting privacy and confidentiality is of major importance for the Project. INDECT is working on techniques for proper protection of sensitive data by using modern techniques such as digital watermarks and quantum cryptography. For research purposes a fictional and gathered from project members data is sufficient. INDECT researchers do not hold and do not intend to hold confidential data or those normally requiring a court order.
In connection with the conducted control by Office of General Data Protection Supervisor, provided for the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow, it has been identified that personal data are not processed (in addition to the ones belonging to the authors of the project). Persons whose data was or will be used, agree to that by completing the relevant questionnaire (a model was developed with the European Commission). It should be mentioned that the project is without prejudice to the protection of personal data.
The control was conducted with respect to:
- The (Polish) Law of 29 August 1997 on the Protection of Personal Data (Journal of Laws of 2002 No. 101, item. 926, as amended),
- The Regulation of the Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration 2 of 29 April 2004 on personal data processing documentation and technical and organizational conditions that should be fulfilled by devices and systems used for the processing of personal data (Journal of Laws No. 100, item. 1024).
