The conference of Polish Platform for Homeland Security in Będlewo
The conference on ‘New directions in research on internal security and their practical application’ was organized by Polish Platform for Homeland Security from 4th to 6th December at the branch of Polish Academy of Science in Będlewo in Poland. The main topics of the conference were issues related to new technologies in the criminal justice process, taking into account technical and legal aspects as well as the traffic safety of blind people. The following systems have been presented: Automatic Speech Recognition system (ARM), integrated ICT platform and LINK2, complex applications supporting the criminal analysis. The conference was attended by a representatives of INDECT , who introduced a tool called INACT (which is aimed to fight child pornography) and INDECT solutions for privacy and data protection. Discourse on the human rights and civil liberties in the context of safety research have been continued. The meeting was actively attended by Dr. Wojciech Rafał Wiewiórowski– The General Inspector for Personal Data Protection, Katarzyna Szymielewicz– Chairman of the Panoptykon Foundation Board and the representatives of the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights.
