1st and 2nd of September a WP6 meeting was held in Madrid, hosted by the WP leader Moviquity. A total of 13 participants, on behalf of the main WP participants, AGH University of Science and Technology (Poland), General Headquarters of Police (Poland), Moviquity (Spain), Poznan University of Technology (Poland) and Technical University of Ostrava (Czech Republic) attended the event, joining technical and user perspectives.
The WP holds periodically video conferences that allow the ideas exchange and the partners’ work synchronization. However, the face2face meeting was an opportunity for more in-depth discussions about the solution that will be provided and how it will be achieved.
The meeting allowed the partners to align the technical solution and end users’ expectations, clarifying which aspects will be essential from the user point of view and how the system will meet them. Underline the architecture session where the technical proposal and the functionalities supported were validated as well as those ones regarding the open tasks where the multimedia data handle and ontology management advances where presented.
An important issue also dealt with was the integration of the portal with external functionalities provided by other WPs. Matters such as the most suitable options for data store and update were discussed, identifying questions that need further discussion and agreements between WPs. The WP8 leader (Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Spain) presence encouraged the security considerations debate, within which different approaches for the authentication and authorization management were offered.
As main meeting results, it is possible to highlight a deeper knowledge of the components, an improved solution design, based on the ideas exchange, and a well-tough plan for facing the short-medium term. Furthermore, after the meeting, promising outputs can be ensured (including the first prototypes) by the next project review that will be held in summer 2011.
As it has been commented the meeting had the foreseen presentations together with very active and fruitful discussions that have boosted the WP6 advance.
